Special issue “STS in Russia”

“Sociology of Science and Technology” invites authors to take part in the special issue “STS in Russia”!

Social studies of science and technology today are one of the most relevant and intensively developing areas of modern sociology. In this issue we would like to collect articles by sociologists, anthropologists, historians and some other related specialties devoted to the wide range of topics associated with STS. We suppose to consider how science and technology on the one hand, and society, politics, ideology, culture on the other hand, influence each other from different sides.

Why are we attracting Russian authors or those related to Russia? It seems to us necessary to create some platform for the interaction of various centers and individual scholars whose work is dedicated to this discipline. In addition, this area is still quite young in Russia and has not yet become an integral part of university curricula and obviously needs to be popularized.

Articles may include but are not limited by the following topics:

The interaction of science, technology and society at various levels; the social history of science and technology (not earlier than 1901); the problems of teaching STS courses in universities, its content and integration into curriculum. Book reviews on STS (not earlier than 2017). Reviews of conferences and other events related to the theme of the issue (not earlier than 2019).
