АННОТАЦИЯ:
В статье, посвященной известному генетику, растениеводу, путешественнику академику Н.И. Вавилову, сделан акцент на материалах социоэкономической и науковедческой направленности. Определена связь с его исследованиями по изучению центров происхождения культурных растений, научно-организационной деятельностью. Проанализированы итоги экспедиций Вавилова в Афганистан, страны Азии, Средиземноморья, обогатившие познания ученых в отношении земледелия и растительных ресурсов мира. Учтены путевые заметки в плане обычаев, организации быта культуры населения. Обращается внимание на систему взглядов Вавилова по развитию агрономической науки, ее интенсификации, на модель построения опытных станций, исследовательских институтов, высшей школы.

The article is dedicated to a geneticist, grower, and traveller academician N.I. Vavilov. The emphasis is put on socio-economic and scientific materials. The link between his studies of the centers of cultivated plants origin and scientific-organizational activity is defined. The results of Vavilov’s expeditions in Afghanistan, countries of Asia, the Mediterranean, enriched the scientific knowledge concerning agriculture and plant resources of the world, are presented. The travel notes are taken into account in terms of the customs, the welfare culture of the population. The attention is drawn to Vavilov’s belief system to the development of agronomic science, its intensification, and the model of construction of experimental stations, research institutes, and higher school.
